Introduction
“Creativity is intelligence having FUN”
— Albert Einstein
Now that you’ve found the time of day when you’re most creative, it’s time to find the inspiration needed for creativity. After all, you can’t synthesize something out of “nothing”.
Finding inspiration for creativity can be somewhat of a challenge, if it weren’t then everyone would be certified geniuses but that’s not the case, although there are 6 things you can do right now that will put you on the right path.
#1 The one person you admire

I’m sure there is at least one person who whenever you see them the excite-o-meter inside you rises beyond its normal limits because the amount of admiration you have for this person is truly astronomical. Elon Musk is the man that inspires me the most, every time I either watch a video about him and his exploits, read a blog about his career or listen to his life story, there is always a feeling of deep inspiration and more often than not I end up synthesizing ideas not too long after having been inspired by him.
#2 The correlation between nostalgia and creativity

Nostalgia makes us crave the past. It brings back fond memories of family road trips to the Grand Canyon, a crush at summer camp, hanging out with high school friends, etc. It seems counterintuitive, then, that such a backward-looking emotion would inspire original ideas, but that’s exactly what new research has found. It turns out that nostalgia actually makes people more open to new experiences, and this effect can boost creativity. Nostalgia makes people more optimistic about the future and more willing to set new goals.
#3 Journaling

Journaling is a way to motivate yourself, as this practice increases your self-confidence. You get to explore cognitive and emotional areas of your own normally inaccessible psyche, which unlocks your creative side and gives you inspiration for your personal and professional projects. It’s recommended to write (preferably by hand) for at least 15 minutes every day, letting words flow without worrying about grammar and spelling. Journaling can be used to write down ideas that can be revisited and edited to produce refined work.
#4 Step out of your comfort zone

“Creativity is born from discomfort”.
Doing something that you aren’t used to is a great way to ignite the fire of creativity, if you do something you aren’t used to like public speaking, leading your group of friends and or embarking on a travel journey then there is a significantly higher chance that you’ll increase your ability to perform abstract thought which is the key to creativity. Stepping out of your comfort zone also makes you comfortable with your ideas, this is very important because if you are uncomfortable/uncertain about your ideas then no one else will be comfortable/certain about them.
#5 Do some chores

Chores are mundane tasks that feel as tedious as waking up early in the morning to do a job you loathe, but you can somehow find the good in the bad, by this I’m referring to the time acquired to think whilst doing chores. When performing any mundane task your body goes into “Autopilot” which means that you don’t have to focus your thoughts on the task at hand leaving you to kill 2 birds with one stone.
#6 Perform a dopamine fast

Dopamine is the neurotransmitter in our brains that’s responsible for motivation and reward, it’s an important brain chemical, and people who have high amounts of it (whether naturally or by taking medications/substances) tend to have low amounts of focus and are unable to concentrate (you most probably see how this impedes the process of creativity). The main reason for performing a dopamine fast is to eliminate any symptoms of burnout caused by high amounts of stimuli in our everyday lives. Taking one day to perform a dopamine fast can significantly boost creativity for a certain amount of time. You can have a reoccurring day whereby a dopamine fast can be taken.
Things to abstain from would include TV, Smartphones, any kind of substance intake, overeating, etc. If it’s fun, gun it down.
# End
In conclusion, inspiration can be drawn from the subtle details in life and the process of producing something truly original doesn’t happen overnight, it takes a combination of both liner planning and abstract thought to achieve something truly worthwhile.
